Warning: spoilers ahead ;)

Michelle Dockery’s “Downton Abbey” character of Mary is going be starting off season 4 mourning the loss of her longtime love Matthew Crawley, but for fans who are hoping to see some of that light return to her eyes (and her demeanor) this season, you are probably going to be pretty disappointed. Instead, what we are more than likely going to see here is the return of a certain cold, calculated Mary that shined through the early seasons. With so much gone from her life, the interest in staying positive may no longer be there.

This sentiment was echoes first of all by executive producer Gareth Neame, who said the following in an interview with TVLine about just what sort of change we should eventually expect to see out of the character:

“She mellowed with Matthew [and] opened up a lot more, But I think [after losing Matthew and Sybil], she would be just so devastated that I think it would lock her down and [she would] go back into a lot of the traits that she had before – that very difficult to read characteristic she’s got. I think we’ll see a lot of those very dark and complex things about Mary.”

Eventually, Mary’s journey could lead to her developing a new love interest, but Rome (or hear heart) is not going to be built in a day. Finding love again could be a season-long struggle, if not longer based on what the writers decide. We know that the last thing the show wants to do is make viewers believe that she has suddenly moved on too quickly from her past relationship, especially given the affection that is out there for the Matthew character.

The Pants on Fire Theatre Company, of which Michelle is a patron, was kind enough to send this video promoting their upcoming production of Pinocchio. Michelle can also be seen in the video…and make sure you watch the end! ;)

Best of luck to the Pants on Fire theatre company on their production!

It looks like we here in the United States will have to yet again wait until January 2014 to see Season 4. The official season premiere date is Sunday, January 5, 2014. Ouch. No word yet as to the premiere date for British viewers.

So, it looks like we have quite a long wait. But has that ever stopped me? ;-) Screencaps and other Season 4 goodies will be posted as soon as they become available.

Michelle stepped out last night among other high profile celebrities for the Costume Institute Gala “PUNK: Chaos to Couture” exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A few shots of her leaving the Mark Hotel were also taken on her way to the event!

Every time that Peter Griffin has burped, farted, or otherwise acted boorishly on Family Guy is about to be evened out with one classy casting move: Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery will lend her voice to the animated Fox comedy.

Known for playing droll aristocrat Lady Mary Crawley on the hit British period drama, Dockery will appear in a cutaway gag on the Griffins’ television playing…an aristocrat in a British period drama. Her brief cameo will air in an episode next season.

Ha! Another great opportunity for Michelle to lend her comedic talents! Can’t wait for this!

Also, have you checked out our new matching gallery theme? =)

Thanks to a site visitor, Anh, I have added some high quality images of Michelle from this weekend’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Thanks for sending those in! :)

A bit more information on Michelle’s possible role in ‘The Guernsey Literary And Potato Peel Pie Society’ has been released…if Michelle takes the role.

If a deal happens, Dockery will play a single, 30-something author named Juliet Ashton who wrote during World War II. The novel is set up as a series of vignettes from colorful characters who write letters to Juliet detailing their quirky, funny and heartbreaking stories as the war rages on. Letter-writing eventually leads to the formation of the titular Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society as the island falls to German occupation. Filmmakers are hoping Dockery will be available to shoot the adaptation after the fourth season of “Downton Abbey” wraps in August.

I think this sounds like a fantastic role for her. What are your thoughts?

I’ve added several images to the gallery of Michelle attending several events yesterday including the Annual White House Correspondents Garden Brunch and the Bloomberg Vanity Fair White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner Afterparty! What do you think of Michelle’s violet purple peplum gown with chiffon inlay and a belt from Elie Saab’s Fall/Winter 2013-2014 ready-to-wear collection? So gorgeous!

I’ve found a few medium quality images of Michelle at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Weekend Pre-Party. Doesn’t she just look chic and amazing?! If anyone has any links to high quality images, can you send it to me? Thanks!
